My practice makes use of whatever media best accommodates the subject matter, content and purposes of the piece. I work with many materials and formats including found objects and recycled materials. In my work I push the boundaries of what a painting/ sculpture/ installation might be.

I see the execution of my work to be as important as the final outcome. I will often work on several pieces at one time as I need time to reflect and think about what I am trying to convey. Often the execution of the work is instinctive but my understanding of it develops as I engage with a piece.

My work has developed through installations, oil painting, drawing, photography, textiles and painting. I like to experiment with different media in order to find expression for my work. I am interested in the tension created by our need to understand and order through rational analysis whilst at the same time accepting that what is truly unique and inspiring are the things we can’t explain or predict.
